Secret Passage can be found in rooms at the four corners of the board. When you are in a room with secret passage before rolling, you can directly go to the room in opposite corner diagonally. You can't move to other rooms/corridor if you choose secret passages in your turn. For example, in Tudor Mansion,

In some versions, you must leave the room in your next turn after making a suggestion there. However, on average you need to roll at least a "4" so get into a room, otherwise you stay at corridor and cannot make suggestions. In this case, staying in a room with secret passage is useful because you can guarantee that you can suggest by moving to the opposite room even you get very low rolls. On the other hand, you can still move further if you roll larger.
